Name: : Rohan Tillekeratne It is distressing how we as a modern day people still continue to look at others and continue to live a rectionery life. THe Sinhalese always complained agianst the minorities and even todate continue to grumble about their political ambitions. What the majority of any nation needs to understand is that the minorities will remain compalcent only as long as the leadership of the motherland remain competent and capable. It is the obsolete and slimy nature of our politicians over the past 50years that brought Sri Lanka to this sorry state of affairs. If we continue to let the same trend continue, the same results will continue too. We need to implement rule of law for those who bear public office. That is the starting point towards building a self-respecting nation, within which all communities will find peace. If not, total disintegration of Sri Lanka along ethnic and whatever lines of identity will be inevitable. Most importantly, we will leave a legacy of political thuggery and corruption for the next generations to suffer under too. The day the first political crook goes to jail, will bring the re-birth of a nation that all ethnic groups can be proud of. E-mail: Date: October 28, 2002

Name: : Glen Kroon Hear! Hear! I agree and support your suggestion. Corrupt and bullying politicians must be put away by exposing, naming, shaming and a stiff jail sentence to go with it. E-mail: Date: November 30, 2002
