Tigers behind Pettah infernal!
December 19 Lankatruth: The blaze that killed 21 and critically injured 29 on the 17th night at Gas Works Street at Pettah in Colombo in a four storied building had been caused by 2 ½ kg of TNT which is a hyper active explosive that had been stored in a fire works retail shop in the basement of the building. The fireworks shop had been owned by Selladurai Balasingham who was killed by the blast together with his three sons and five Tamil youths who had come from Jaffna. On of his sons who died in the blast had arrived from Sweden on this fatal day at about 5.00p.m. The intelligence unit of the Security Forces had had information about production of suicide bomb kits and high powered bombs but the authorities had not taken any action to confirm the validity of this evidence. Though the son of the businessman who had arrived from Sweden had been a close associate of the LTTE hierarchy and has been established as a high powered bomb expert the security chiefs for obvious reasons opt to ignore these facts. According to Army Intelligence sources the blast had occurred by mistake while tiger suicidal kits made up of TNT, (Tri Titro Tohrime) had been inspecting. As the Prime Minister’s media unit is engaged in an attempt to conceal the true facts of this incident ‘Lankatrth’ appeals to all its fraternal media units to give publicity to this incident.
