ANTON BALASINGHAM ISSUES A WARNING ON THE LIFE OF TAMIL NADU CHIEF MINISTER JEYALALITHA JEYARAM ON HEROE’S DAY IN LONDON
By Walter Jayawardhana reporting from Los Angeles Tamil political sources allege that the chief negotiator of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) Anton Balasingham has issued a warning on the life of the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Jeyalalitha Jeyaram. According to the sources Anton Balasingham who is also the theoretician and advisor to LTTE Supremo, Prabhakaran issued the warning at the last Heroes’ Day celebration of the LTTE held in London. Anton Balasingham who is currently heading the LTTE delegation in the Norway backed “peace negotiations” with the Colombo administration of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe of Sri Lanka allegedly made the statement while addressing the terrorist group’s annual celebration to commemorate the fallen fighters of the terrorist group and the 48th birth day of the terrorist leader Velupillai Prabhakaran on November 30 2002. He reportedly told the London audience, “ I have a message for Jeya Akka, which is, even if she dances head down and feet up performing the dance of Badra Kali, none can obstruct the growth and the rise of the LTTE” Political sources have interpreted the part of the statement “head down and feet up” was made in reference to a person when struck fatally by a suicide bomber of the LTTE. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Jeyalalitha Jeyaram was famous as a dancer performing South Indian dances in her main roles in Tamil Films in the past. Akka means elder sister in Tamil customarily used to address a female slightly older than the speaker. Intelligence sources both in India and Sri Lanka have reported that the names of fellow Tamils like Jeyalalitha Jeyaram and Former Sri Lanka Foreign Minister Lakshman Kadirgamar appear prominently in the LTTE hit list , the persons to be assassinated by their suicide bombers. Despite the sponsorship of Western nations like the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Norway that encourage peace talks with the terrorist group against the policy applied to the Middle Eastern terrorist groups the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam maintains the biggest suicide team in the world known as the Black Tigers. To declare the LTTE’s intention to continue with the suicide bombers, the terrorist group for the first time demonstrated some suicide bombers, with covered faces at the last Heroes’ Day celebrations in the LTTE controlled areas in Sri Lanka.
