Jon Westborg , the sincere friend of the terrorist group , the
Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam for many decades ever
since he was the head of the Redd Barna, a Norway based
NGO is seen here in pleasant company of Tamil Tigers’
political section leader S. Thamilchelvan and other LTTE
leaders. Many have alleged that Westborg was directly
involved in the LTTE’s separatist activities for decades.
In the most recent scandal he was found to have brought
in to the country a high powered radio transmitter and a
VSAT military communication earth station that could
send messages in voice, pictures and otherwise that cannot
be intercepted by the enemy. Prime Ministers Secretary
Bradman Weerakoon was also accused of clearing them
for the Tigers. It has been accused that Westborg who is
now the Ambassador for the Royal Norwegian government
misused his diplomatic privileges to bring in the military
related equipment to the country. Sri Lanka President
Chandrika Kumaratunga has received many petitions to
name him a persona non grata and banish him from the
