September 03.10.30 AM:The Norway backed Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission (SLMM) spokeswoman Agnes Bragdottir said that the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) refused to allow their monitors to enter the Wan Ela illegal military camp they had established in the Sri Lanka controlled area in Kinniya in the Trincomalee District.

They said the SLMM monitors were attempting to enter the Wan Ela military camp since they were expected to inspect the camp under their mandate of the Ceasefire Agreement between the Liberation Tigers of Tamil and the Government of Sri Lanka.

At the same time, Bragdottir said, the SLMM was also investigating in to the complaint by the Sri Lanka Army that the LTTE was coming close to the Sri Lanka Army Camps in Jaffna and were engaged in military exercises.

Meanwhile , she said, Deepan of the LTTE had complained that the Sri Lanka Army had gonee too close to their headquarters in Kilinochchi.

Using the maps supplied by the LTTE and the Sri Lanka Army the Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission earlier decided that the Wan Ela military camp in Kinniya was illegally constructed by the LTTE in the Sri Lanka controlled area.

Earlier the Head of the SLMM Tryggve Tellefsen also visied Kilinochchi and met the political head of the LTTE , S.P. Thamilselvan and LTTE Peace Secretariat head S.Pulithevan over the illegal military camp.

But all attempts to implement the SLMM verdict failed.
