LTTE TERRORISTS KILL ANOTHER SL ARMY SOLDIER AND KIDNAP A POLICEMAN BOTH SERVING IN TRINCOMALLE DESPITE “PEACE PROCESS”

October 03.06.45 PM: The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam killers reached close to the Sri Lanka Army’s 22nd Battalion Headquarters in Trincomalee and killed a Tamil soldier, Vigneshwaram Babu alias Banu working for Army’s intelligence unit and kidnapped and tortured a Tamil Police constable Kandasamy Gnanasekeram at Kalawanchikudi, both in the Eastern Province.
Described as one of the most efficient intelligence unit men the army had, the 25 year old soldier who was a father of one child was fatally injured on his head by a sword by a LTTE killer, October 2 at 2.30 p.m. at Keseltuduwe, close to the battalion headquarters army sources said
Described by observers as a clear violation of the Ceasefire Agreement Ranil Wickremesinghe government signed with terrorist leader Velupillai Prabhakaran, the intelligence unit soldier was killed while government spokesman, G.L.Peiris was accusing the country’s opposition for obstructing the what he termed the country’s peace process. Prior to this many other Tamil soldiers serving for the Sri Lanka Army had been killed by the LTTE.
A former member of the LTTE, Vigneshwaram joined the Sri Lanka Army in 1999 and was under strict orders not to go out of his quarters alone, army sources said.
He was apparently killed when he visited his home close to the military headquarters sources said. He could not be sent to a hospital as soon as he was injured since a woman’s message that he had been injured and lying on the road reached the army about 20 minutes after he was attacked army sources said
In a separate incident Kandasamy Gnanasekeram, serving the Trincomalee Police was kidnapped with his son by the terrorists of the LTTE, September 27 and imprisoned in a dark room by himself, he has complained to the Police. The incident had happened when he visited his home and while he was on his way back to report for duty . His son was also accompanying the father to kalawanchikudi when they were kidnapped . He said he was assaulted by a local LTTE leader Karthi and seven others and was warned to resign from the Police in two days. According to the complaint he was released on September 29.
Meanwhile S. P. Thamilchelvan, the political leader of the terrorist group said that their members who were engaged in drafting the interim government proposals were flying to Dublin , Ireland to prepare the final draft after receiving instructions from leader Velupillai Prabhakaran. . The delegates would then discuss the proposals with constitutional experts in the Irish city , he said.
