PRESIDENT CHANDRIKA KUMARATUNGA STILL AT THE TOP OF THE LIBERATION TIGERS OF TAMIL EELAM HIT LIST SAYS INTELLIGENCE

August 05.11.15 AM:Intelligence units in Sri Lanka have alerted that the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) has placed the assassination of President Chandrika Kumaratunga as a priority item of their political strategy.
Under the present circumstances the terrorist group considered the assassination of President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga would help the rebel group enter the corridors of power in Colombo more directly, police sources said.
The intelligence services of the Police investigated in to the allegations that a senior member of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam , months ago stayed in Room no. 604 of the Hilton Hotel , facing the Presidential House , close to the hotel to examine details of the President’s official residence. The same investigation had given this warning., sources said .
The LTTE member Pulidevan, an important person in the Tamil Tiger power structure reportedly asked for Room no. 604 when he visited Colombo.
Police intelligence said the bills of Pulidevan’s hotel stay was paid by a racketeer close to the UNF government called “Taxi Abey”. They said, the bills of Pulidevan had been paid by Taxi Abey’s credit card.
Pulidevan was also interested in getting a container released that reached Colombo harbor , sources said.
Other detective work by the intelligence units reveal the assassination of the Dehiwala intelligence unit chief Sunil Thabrew had been carried out to immediately stop the investigations by the assassinated police officer about the media network of the LTTE in the city of Colombo.
At the time of the assassination Inspector Sunil Thabrew was investigating about two websites of the LTTE operated out from a United Nations office in Ward Place, Colombo 7. At the same time he was also investigating about two pro-LTTE newspapers being published from Wellawatte. Suriyan and Shakthi FM radio stations were also under investigation by him.
