July 07, 11.45 AM: The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) had requested tight security from the Sri Lanka police at the Black Tiger day celebrations in Trincomalee ,from Sri Lanka Police for the first time in history for fear of attack by Karuna Amman forces in the East .

The LTTE website, Tamil Net revealed that the Police provided such security for the event held at Sivakovilady grounds in Trincomalee.

The LTTE’s Black Tiger day events were marred by the killings of two provincial leaders of Tigers who were coming to take part in the same celebrations at Batticaloa. Two others were injured

The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) Spy Chief Pottu Amman presenting a music album singing praises of the dead suicide bombers of the group to the group’s Supremo Velupillai Prabhakaran was one of the main features of the Black Tiger Day celebrations held in the North , July 5 by the Tamil rebel group, the LTTE reported.

Both the Intelligence Chief Pottuamman and leader Prabhakaran are allegedly the two main conspirators of the assassination of former Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi by using a suicide bomber , who was included in the commemoration among hundreds of other walking bombs , who have been martyred by the rebel group Apart from that Velupillai Prabhakaran has been also convicted by a Sri Lankan court for using another suicide bomber to blast Colombo’s Central Bank.

LTTE controlled , Tamil Net published the album presentation picture as the leading picture of the Black Tiger day, but did not mention where it was held . It also published a group photo with Prabhakaran, with the commermorative flame and some possible future suicide bombers who are generally called walking bombs. But in the picture at least three, one female and two males were on wheel chairs. But the website did not call them suicide bombers. There was not a mention why they were present there either.

Hundreds of school children were forced to participate in the festivities organized by the LTTE to induce the young people to join the suicide political culture all over the Northern and Eastern Provinces on Black Tiger day.

In fact one of the main Black Tiger festivals was held at Nelliady Central College in Jaffna where on June 5 1987 a man called Miller, the first suicide bomber who destroyed a makeshift army barrack by blowing himself. At this festival, the LTTE separatist flag was hoisted breaking rules imposed by the Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission Inducing the children present the Principal of the Nelliady Central College garlanded the statue of the first suicide bomber of the LTTE joining hands with the other Tiger leaders.

The Sri Lanka Army reported that about four hundred school children in Chavakachcheri were made to take part by the LTTE in the Black Tiger Day event. The army said they informed the SLMM how the LTTE raised , against the rules imposed by the monitors, the separatist Tiger flags at Kodigamam in Jaffna. Anyway the LTTE agreed to remove it when the SLMM intervened.

The army said similar incident was also reported from Thuttuwai, Adappankulam in Vavuniya. A Black Tiger day event attended by parliamentarian Kishor Kumar Adikkalanandan at Pandarikulam Thonikal was also reported to the SLMM for the same violation

In Vavuniya, the security reports said , hundreds of passengers were stranded, as the bus owners were forced to use buses to transport people to the LTTE celebration. The Muslim shops in Vavuniya were forced to collect SL Rupees 50,000 for the LTTE event and hand it over through the mosque, the army reported.

For the fear of an attack by the Karuna forces , the LTTE requested the Trincomalee Police to provide them security. The LTTE website said, the Sri Lanka Police provided tight security to their Trincomalee event.
