JAYALATH JAYAWARDENA IS HEAVILY GRILLED AT UNP GROUP MEETING BUT RANIL WAS SILENT AS HE WENT WITH HIS BLESSINGS TO VISIT TERRORIST LEADER DAYA MASTER

Los Angeles:- Dr. Jayalath Jayawardena, a close ally of party leader Ranil Wickremesinghe was grilled by other UNP parliamentarians with heated accusations for visiting Daya Master , the Tamil Tiger propaganda man at the Apollo hospital when he made a controversial trip to Colombo to take treatment and obtain a true diagnosis of his heart following a massive stroke.
The widely circulated Sunday weekly “Irida Divaina” reported that the issue was raised by the UNP Members of Parliament Mano Wijeratne and Bandula Gunawardena and asked him why the UNP MP was visiting for hours with a well known terrorist leader of the country. When Jayalath Jayawardena was trying to reply there was a heated exchange of words between the Jayawardena and Wijeratna and Gunawardena. The leader Ranil Wickremesinghe was trying to settle the dispute and kept mysteriously silent about the issue.
Jayawardena on earlier occasions offered himself to treat LTTE guerillas and traveled to Kilinochchi to do it, all with Ranil Wickremesinghe’s blessings. Long before Ranil Wickremesinghe’s government was formed he traveled abroad to take part in LTTTE sponsored conferences and justified the Tamil youth taking up arms. The US based World Spy Magazine called him a LTTE spy due to his close affliations with the LTTE. It is believed Jayalath Jayawardena went to Apollo, had long chats and helped Daya Master to recover from his medical condition with his expertise and sent his greetings to Prabhakaran through the LTTE propaganda man as Wickremesinghe’s representative.
Dr. Jayalath Jayawardena replied his parliamentary colleagues that long before he became a Member of Parliament he became a doctor by passing various examinations in Sri Lanka and abroad and he was visiting and treating patients at hospitals.
He said it was regretful, that some of his colleagues did not know that he was a doctor.
The Irida Divaina reported that Jayalath Jayawardena had a heated argument with Galle District Member of Parliament Hemakumara Nanayakkara in the corridor of the parliament. Nanayakkara who has declared war against UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe these days accused him in strong language for visiting Daya Master. Hemakumara is so opposed to the leader these days, the newspaper said, he walks out in protest when Ranil Wickremesinghe walks in to a UNP meeting.
