THE SUN ROSE IN THIS TOWN WITH GORY AND MAYHEM KILLING TWO AND SERIOUSLY INJURING THREE BY LTTE CLAYMORES AND GUN FIRE

Los Angeles:- The terrorists of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) during morning attacks intended mostly for the security forces by claymore mines and fire attacks in Jaffna killed at least two civilians, injured two civilians and one soldier, the Sri Lanka Army said.

Among those injured during this morning mayhem, July 27, was the Vice Principal of the town’s leading educational institute, the Jaffna Hindu College, Mr. Krishnakumar who was on his way to the school about 7.25 a.m. the sources said.

A young newspaper distributor who was going to fetch his newspapers on a motorbike in the morning and a boat owner who had disobeyed LTTE were also among the dead as the sun rose beginning another day of violence in this capital city of Sri Lanka’s Tamils. All the terrible incidents took place within a matter of four hours. Most bloodletting was caused by indiscriminate use of the claymore mines by the LTTE, the army said.

Some LTTE terrorists hiding close to Manoraj junction and Sivam kovil on Jaffna-KKS road had detonated a claymore mine , with the least concern for the passing civilians in the morning rush hour, was only able to injure one army soldier , but seriously injured the 50 year old Hindu College educator and another civilian not yet identified. When the mindless violence was committed hundreds of school children and other rush hour commuters were on the road. All three injured were rushed to the hospital.
BR> Another claymore attack, during the wee hours of the same day near the Ellalan Library in Achchuveli in Jaffna killed a young man of 22 years and injured his companion seriously. Mariyadas Manonjan Raj the young newspaper distributor was accompanied by his friend, who were on their way to collect the Thirikkural newspaper when the LTTE terrorists for some unknown reason triggered the claymore at 3.45 a.m. Mariyadas died instantly. The LTTE web site the Tamil Net said he may have died by striking a stray grenade on the road, which was very unlikely.

The President of the Point Pedro Fishermen’s Association Kandiah Chitra Vadivel was allegedly gunned down by LTTE terrorists near a Kovil on the school lane at Puloly south July 27 around 7.45 a.m. Police inquiries revealed that the victim, who was also a boat owner, had reportedly ignored several orders given by the LTTE.
