July 10.10.00 PM: The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) once again gunned down an army informer of Akkarapattu area in the Ampara District, police sources reported.
A LTTE gunman fatally wounded Sangunada Pillai Vevekanandarajah (36) a former member of the Tamil Eelam Liberation Organization (TELO)
T. M. Ratnayaka, OIC Akkarapattu Police said at the same spot on Urpodiya Road in Akkarapattu, where the suspected LTTE gun man killed Vivekanandarajah two previous political murders had been committed. In both previous murders and this one evdence showed the same pistol had been used to kill.
Ratnayaka said the deceased was involved in providing intelligence to the Sri Lanka Army.
Ratnayaka said , except the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam no body else had any reason to kill Vivekanandarajah.
He said he had been gunned down while riding a bicycle.
As usual , like in previous assassinations, the area LTTE authorities denied any responsibility in the killing.
