PRABHAKARAN’S INVADERS IN THE EASTERN PROVINCE KILLED PRISONERS OF WAR , WHO SURRENDERED TO THEM , IT IS ALLEGED

April 14, 06.30 PM: Hundreds of Karuna faction soldiers who surrendered to Prabhakaran’s forces from Wanni are believed to have been killed during the initial stages of the fratricidal war between the two factions of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE

Sources in the Eastern Province said dead bodies of Tamil soldiers in uniforms whose hands were tied to their backs were found in Vakarai by the people who visited the area to inspect any possible damage to their houses .

Opponents of the LTTE, the Eelam People’s Democratic Party (EPDP) confirmed this information by independent observers.

It is customary, for the LTTE to kill war prisoners. During a previous fratricidal war T.Sabaratnam , the leader of the Tamil Eelam Liberation Organization (TELO) who surrendered to the LTTE with more than hundred others were burnt alive by the LTTE.

Meanwhile sources said many Tamil civilians who were caught between the cross fire of the two were also killed during the fight.

Many bodies have been recovered in wells. The sources said those were civilians who were running away from the Prabhakaran forces and accidentally fell into wells .
