LTTE CONTINUES ITS WAR AGAINST ARMY WHILE THE MOU PROTECTS ONLY TAMIL TIGERS

May 31. 03.00 AM:Opposition critics in Sri Lanka attacked the Norway backed cease-fire agreement between the UNF government and the LTTE for only protecting the LTTE armed cadres while the LTTE continued to wage its war against the armed forces of Sri Lanka with another two soldiers being injured at Trincomalee by LTTE attacks.

The critics said the Norway backed Sri lanka Monitoring Mission has failed to prevent LTTE attacks against alternative Tamil political parties as well as Sri Lanka Army soldiers continually at Batticaloa , Colombo, Mt. Lavinia, Jaffna Peninsula and now at Trincomalee.

Sri Lanka Army complaint to the Sri lanka Monitoring Mission said Corporal Sisira Kumara of 11th Sri lanka National Guard and Private Navam Mahendran of 2nd Sri lanka National Guard who were in civil attire fell victims to shooting and hacking respectively , May 29 about 12.35 noon.

The two soldiers returning to their camp at Trincomalee on push bicycles after a tour outside were shot at and hacked by the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam attackers after waitin on ambush.

The Army said the attack was done in gross violation of the Norway backed memorandum of undrstanding

Reports from Trincomalee said both victims had identified their attackers as belonging to the LTTE terrorist group. After admission to the Trincomalee hospital both soldiers were airlifted to the National Hospital in Colombo for intensive care. Navam , who received hack injuries on his head was in a very serious condition. Corporal Sisira kumara received pistol injuries on his stomach.

Initial reports said they were attacked at , Center Road , Orrs Hill , Trincomalee. When the surrounding public raised cries , the attackers fled the scene initial reports said.

Meanwhile two Police constables, Gamini(33715) and Reserve Police constable Udayakumar (22469) were abducted by LTTE terrorists at Udayamankerni near Seruwila when they were out serving court summons .Reports said later they were moved to the LTTE held area , Kandakadi.

The LTTE is also holding a member of the Sri lanka Navy after arresting him in a government controlled are but now taken to an are under lTTE control.
