A Bodhi Puja organized by Sri Lankan Patriots in California was held
at Maithree Vihara, Sun Vally, California, on April 28, 2006 at 8.00
p.m. for the speedy recovery of Sri Lankan Army Commander Lt. Gen.
Sarath Fonseka and other victims who got severely injured in the LTTE
suicide bombing in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Buddhist monks from other
leading Buddhist temples in Los Angeles, Dharma Vijaya Buddhist Temple
and Los Angeles Buddhist Vihara, and a large number of Sri Lankans
participated in this religious ceremony and merits were given to Sri
Lankan soldiers and civilians who perished in this LTTE suicide attack
that blatantly violated the ceasefire agreement.
Following this religious ceremony, the participants held a meeting to
denounce the never ending LTTE terrorist activities and the LTTE's
false pretence for peace to deceive the international community. Here,
the group unanimously decided to inform Sri Lankan President Mahinda
Rajapaksha to keep the sovereignty and the unitary state of Sri Lanka,
and to act decisively against the LTTE terrorists led by the murderer
Prabhakaran who was even wanted by the Interpol. They launched a
campaign collecting five thousand signatures from Sri Lankan
expatriates for a petition to strengthen the hand of President Mahinda
Rajapaksha to stand against the LTTE terrorists without wavering. The
Sri Lankan expatriates pledge all their support to any action to
eradicate LTTE terrorism and their agenda to divide the country. They
remind that we must never forget that the LTTE has never abandoned
their vision, the claim of Ealam
